Lord Ullin's Daughter by Thomas Campbell.

About the Author ;
Thomas Campbell , was a Scottish poet chiefly remembered for his sentimental poetry dealing especially with human affairs. A co-founder of the Literary Association of the Friends of Poland, he was also one of the initiators of a plan to found what became the University of London. In 1799, he wrote "The Pleasures of Hope", a traditional 18th century didactic poem in heroic couplets. He also produced several stirring patriotic war songs—"Ye Mariners of England", "The Soldier's Dream", "Hohenlinden" and in 1801, "The Battle of Mad and Strange Turkish Princes".
Impact On society ;
The poem has a positive impact on society.It does not support any offensive issues that are present in our society.The theme of this poem is love but it is also related to problems that are there in the society at present, Eg- 'HONOUR KILLING'.In many old villages and towns, people commit 'HONOUR KILLING'.They kill people just for their honour. They have a stereotype of thinking that their respect will decline in society if they do anything against their religion or protocols made by them.The poem also leaves a good message behind it that,'Hatred always leads to destruction in life,So it's better to embrace love in life and make it peaceful'.
